Token House™ has been operating internet services since 1999 including the promotion of educational and vocational development through various trading initiatives. Its pioneering and successful business roots go back over 30 years. Because of the phenomenal demand for the online recruitment service, in 2008 we will be expanding on the High Street with our Employers Agency, yet another unique and exciting development for the job scene in Bridlington and the East Riding of Yorkshire. The new office will also be home to East Riding of Yorkshire Community Accountancy (ERYCA) Martin A. Crossland, partner of Token House and former Community Accountant at East Riding Voluntary Action Services Ltd (ERVAS) has now set up an independent accounting company which will focus on the continued provision of quality accounts preparation and independent examination services, bookkeeping and payroll services to all community groups, organisations and registered charities within the East Riding of Yorkshire.
Martin who was instrumental in the success of the ERVAS pilot project - which ran as a partnership through Humberside Community Accountancy financed via ChangeUp funding during 2006 and 2007 - has now left ERVAS to develop this new initiative. Although funding ceased for the original project in September 2007, he has continued to provide accountancy services to groups, resulting in this business and will further develop these services as a 'Not for Profit' operation. In 2004, following our relocation to Bridlington, we became aware of the opportunities not only for business expansion, but also for the benefit of the area and its population through utilizing our expertise, ethos and our commitment to regeneration programmes. The establishment of the jobsite was achieved by using the experience gained within the voluntary and community sectors, working primarily within areas focused around community development, employment, training and assisting local businesses to thrive.
The continued success of Token House is due partly because browsing for jobs online, is the fastest growing internet trend, currently in the top 5 just behind holidays/travel and one of the main contributing factors why the sales of newspapers have declined more than 750 million copies per year since the 1980's. Research shows that recruiters prefer niche jobsites, rather than national ones, as these return better results - one of the reasons why now more than 65% of all East Yorkshire businesses have already had recruitment adverts featured on the job site since its launch. As with ERYCA any profits we make from revenue collected via the jobs site will be invested back into further development for the benefit of the area. What was once the traditional way of promoting employment opportunities for the town and the region is no more - recruiting via the internet is the future, recruiting locally with this jobsite is the present.
